Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of work at the assembly work of an engine, by providing a water conduction pipe communicated with a cooling water flow inlet port of a cylinder head further extended in the same direction as the mounting direction of a cylinder to a crankcase.
CONSTITUTION: One end of a water conduction pipe 40 is inserted into an opening, formed by an annular wall 38 erected in the same direction as the mounting direction of a cylinder 20 on a side cover 27, through an O-ring 42 while the other end into a cooling water flow inlet 41, formed at the side of the cylinder 20, through an O-ring 43. The water conduction pipe 40 is fixed to the side of the cylinder 20 by screws in such a manner as to be extended in the same direction as the mounting direction of the cylinder 20, and then its extended end 40A is inserted into the annular wall 38 of the side cover 27 previously mounted to a crankcase 22 when the cylinder 20 is installed to the crankcase 22, and engaged water-tightly to the opening in said annular wall 38.
