Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant for hot rolling of steel materials, having excellent instantaneous adhesiveness, excellent hot lubricity, and better waste water treatability, by dispersing surface-treated CaCO3 with a water-soluble high-molecular compound as a dispersant into water. CONSTITUTION:CaCO3 is treated with a surface treating agent, e.g., a fatty acid, a resin acid, a surfactant, etc., to obtain a surface-treated CaCO3. Then, the surface- treated CaCO3 is dispersed into water by using a water-soluble high-molecular compound, e.g., polycarboxylic acid type high-molecular compounds, sodium alginate, etc., as dispersants. EFFECT:The lubricant contains no oils, is stable at high temperature, and is easily separated from water. Also, the treatment of waste water with the lubricant is easy.
