Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a title additive used for improving fluidity and for reducing the viscosity of slurry fuel consisting of powder coal, oil, and slurry mixture produced in the process of waste water treatment by incorporating nonionic surfactant having ethylene oxide gp.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry fuel additive which contains nonionic surfactant with a 3W12 HLB value having ethylene oxide gp, in the molecule as essential component is used for reducing the viscosity and for improving fluidity of slurry fuel consisting of mixture of powder coal, oil, and sludge produced in the process of waste water treatment. Here, the slurry fuel contains about 3W50% of powder coal, about 3W 50% (dry basis) of sludge, and about 50% or less water, and about 30W90% of the remaining oil. The surfactant used has the value of HLB=E/5 (where E is wt% of ethylene oxide gp.), 3≤E/5≤12, i.e., the weight of ethylene oxide gp. occupies 15W60%.
