Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the rough machining on a recessed and protruded complicated shape with simple input operation, by enabling input separately for an open type and an intermediately recessed type of machined shapes and by effecting the rough machining while performing the sequential internal calculation of the cutting route of the machining.
CONSTITUTION: Rough machining is divided into methods for two kinds of machined shapes including an open type and an intermediately recessed type. Tool movement instruction patterns are prescribed to perform quick feed for the open type and cutting feed for the intermediately recessed type from Gi-1 to Gi, cutting feed for both the types from Gi to Hi and quick return for both the types from Hi to Ji. Rough machining can be effected if the Z and X coordinate values of Gi, Hi and Ji are sequentially calculated. The coordinate value Z(Gi) of an intermediately recessed taper is determined from the X and Y coordinate values of the starting point A and end point F of the roughly machined taper taking its finishing allowance δ into consideration.
