Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize water penetration faults owing to the rupture of a cable by burying plural optical fiber strands and a single high tensile wire in a cylinder comprising a hard-to-deform material by providing required intervals and adhering the cylinder to the inside wall of a metal pipe for pressure resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 10 of an extremely hard to deform material such as, for example, super hard ceramics, is disposed to a required length in the cable, and optical fiber strands 1 and a high tensile wire 2 are passed in the holes 11 having beforehand been opened in the cylinder 10 and are adhered by means of an adhesive agent. Next, an adhesive agent 12 is coated on the surface of the cylinder 10 made of super hard ceramics and the cylinder is successively bonded to a copper pipe 13 for power supply. Further, high tensile wires, polyethylene layer and sheath are covered thereon.
