Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the magnetic permeability in forgiable region, by annealing an Fe-Si-Al-Nb alloy having high magnetic permeability under specific conditions, then by cooling the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Si-Al-Nb alloy consisting of 3W8% Al, 4W8% Si, 0.1W 1.0% Nb, the balance being Fe, is annealed at a temp 1,150W1,250°C for 1W2hr. The alloy is then cooled at a rate 40W200°C/hr. The alloy has forgiability and magnetic characteristics such as effective magnetic permeability nearly the same as that of sendust alloy.
