Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture hot rolled high tensile steel sheet of composite structure having ferrite and martensite structures, by hot rolling a steel material contg. a small quantity of alloy elements into sheet, then by controlling the cooling of the sheet under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A steel material contg. as fundamental components <0.20% C, <2% Si, 0.60W3.0% Mn, <0.100% soluble Al, and if necessary one or more members among the group <0.5% Mo, <0.5% Cr, <0.5% Ni, <0.5% Cu, in addition if necessary <0.01% Ca, <0.10% Zr, 0.10% rare earth is finish rolled at ≥ Ar3 transformation temp. into sheet. Said rolled steel sheet is rapidly colled from 720W850°C temp. to ≥500°C temp. at 30W200°C/sec cooling rate. After allowed to cool naturally etc. from said temp., the steel sheet is rapidly cooled once again from 500W700°C temp. at said cooling rate, and is wound into a coil at 200°C temp.
