Abstract
PURPOSE:To promote the heat dissipation of the base and thus increase the positioning accuracy of the head, by providing a heat dissipator to the base existing between the driving mechanism part and the magnetic disk group. CONSTITUTION:Heat dissipator 12 is provided at the joint part of upper case 1 and base 2. Dissipator 12 is made of the material having a high heat conductivity and connected to base 2 thermally. And dissipator 12 extends surrounding the lower part of the magnetic disk group, and has flange part 13 protruding inside and outside magnetic disk group storing room 5. Case 1 is made of the heat insulator in order to increase the heat retaining effect. As a result, the temperature difference between the upper and lower magnetic disks can be reduced down to half or less of the conventional difference.
