Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare simultaneously two pipes having a concave arclike end surface at one cutting operation by a method wherein a shearing blade is provided on the peripheral edge of the end surface of the main body of a cutter and the pipe is cut in such a manner that the direction of the minor axis of the cutter is in parallel with the axial line of the pipe to be cut.
CONSTITUTION: The device is constituted by a die set 1 composed of a lower frame 2, a guide pole 3, an upper frame 4, etc. and by a jig 5 and others. A pipe 14 to be cut is held by the jig 5, being fixed thereto, and is cut by a cutter 13. In this case, cut-in blades 20aW20c are provided at the tip of projections 17aW17c positioned at the tip of the main body 15. In addition, the main body 15 is formed to have a cross section in the shape surrounded by two circular arcs and further the peripheral edge of the tip of the main body 15 is provided with shearing edges 21. Accordingly, the cuttting so as for the end surface of the pipe 14 to be the shape of concave arc can be performed with excellent working property by only one process of advancing (lowering) the cutter. Thus, two pipes having the concave arclike end surface can be prepared simultaneously.
