Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve workability, in an optical fiber connector comprising a receptacle and plug formed of plastics, by making the inside diameter of the receptacle smaller than the outside diameter of the plug and keeping the difference in said diameters at <=50% diameter of the receptacle. CONSTITUTION:The inside diameter of the receptacle of the optical fiber connector is made smaller than the outside diameter of the plug 9 and the difference in said diameters is kept at <=50% the maximum deformation rate within the elasticity of the inside diameter of the receptacle. A resin of a high deformation rate in elasticity is used for these material. In order to facilitate the insertion of the plug into the receptacle, a taper is provided to the end of the plug and the opening of the receptacle. Thereby, the workability of the optical fiber coupling is improved.
