Abstract
PURPOSE: A pyrogenic composition that is prepared by adding a water-soluble hydrazine inorganic acid salt as a reaction accelerator to a metal having a higher ionization tendency than hydrogen, thus being suitably used for disposable body warmers because it generates rapidly by reaction with water and oxygen to maintain high temperatures for many hours.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A metal having a higher ionization tendency than hydrogen, preferably powdery iron, is combined with (B) a water-soluble hydrazine inorganic acid salt such as hydrazinium sulfate or hydrazine hydrochloride as a reaction accelerator are used as the effective components to produce the objective composition that generates heat by reaction with water and oxygen. The weight ratio of component B to component A is more than 1 part per 100 parts and the amounts of water and water retention agent are 10W100 parts respectively. Air may be used as the oxygen source.
