Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate temp. drift and approach the distance to output voltage ratio between a detecting coil and the object to be examined to a linear shape by providing a temperature dependency resistor in proximity to the detecting coil and inserting a nonlinear element between the detecting coil and the oscillating section.
CONSTITUTION: When high frequency current is flowed to a detecting coil 2 and the object to be examined is approached to its detecting end, the characteristics of the detecting coil 2 changes according to the distance between the object to be examined and the detecting coil 2. According to this, the oscillating output of the oscillating section 3 changes and the output thereof is sent out to a detecting output section 4 which in turn generates an output voltage E0. At this time, the temperature dependency resistor 7 such as thermistor connected across the coil in proximity thereto offsets the change in the output voltage characteristics owing to the temperature change. In addition, the nonlinear element 8 inserted between the detecting coil 2 and the oscillating section 3 offsets the nonlinear output characteristics by the detector. Thereby, the temp. drift may be easily detected over a wide range and the linearly changing output voltage may be obtained.
