Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain low fuel cost without decrease in cushion properties and ensure travel safety by duplicately mounting a tyre on the concentric circumference of the same wheel. CONSTITUTION:An inner tyre 3 has a width W broader than that w' of the main body of an outer tyre 1 and a height (h) shorter than that H of the outer tyre 1. The inner and outer tyres 1 and 3 are connected by a wheel rim 5 with an X-shaped cross section and the inner surface of the inner tyre 3 is coupled with a rim 7 of a wheel 6. The wheel 6 is mounted on an axle shaft. The diameters of the inner and outer tyres 3 and 1 are selected so as to make the outer diameter of the outer tyre 1 identical to the outer diameter of a normal tyre. The inner tyre 3 interposed concentrically between said outer tyre 1 and wheel 6 is such a manner that it project laterally from the side walls of outer tyre 1 and the wheel 6. A tube 8 or air is inserted or filled in the space 4 of the tyre 1 and a tube 8' is inserted in the tyre 3. This decreases the fuel consumption due to the cushioning properties of the tyre 3 and can inhance the driving stability due to the laterally broadered structure.
