Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent almost the influence upon the noise characteristic of a transmission circuit itself for making PCM signals, by making first the order monitor signal into PCM signal CONSTITUTION:In the transmission part, when the order monitor signal such as a sound signal is input to A/D converting circuit 1, this signal is made into a PCM signal, and this PCM signal is subjected to FM modulation by voltage control oscillating circuit VCO2. The main signal input is superposed to the FM-modulated signal by driving circuit 3, and the obtained signal is converted to a photosignal by light emitting element 4. In the receiving part, the transmitted light signal is received by photodetector 5 and has the FM part cut by low-pass filter 7 after amplified by amplifying circuit 6 and is caused to pass through reproducing circuit 8, thereby obtaining a main signal. The subcarrier is separated by narrowband filter 9 and is subjected to phase detection by phase synchronizing circuit 10 and phase detecting circuit 11. Then, after discrimination of ''1'' and ''0'' for the output, an sessional monitor signal is obtained by D/A conversion.
