Abstract
PURPOSE: To take the titled measurement with high sensitivity without entertaining fears of pollution by using an azole compound as a substitute for sodium nitroprusside used as a catalyst in the bar slot method, one of measuring methods for ammonia in a liquid.
CONSTITUTION: In the bar slot method (indophenol method) which is widely used to measure ammonia in a liquid and indispensable expecially for measurement of urea nitrogen or free ammonia in a blood serum, a cyanide such as sodium nitroprusside is used as a catalyst in order to increase a recation speed. This method uses an azole compound instead of using the above-mentioned compound to measure indophenol and also to measure ammonia quantitatively by using a calibration curve, and this method is safe and free from pollution. As the azole compound, pyrazole, for example, is excellent in effect, but 1,2,4-triazole can be used.
