Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide titled stabilizer by which finely divided coal powder can stably be dispersed in a fuel oil over a long period of time, consisting of a specified nonionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: One mole of 2W18C, pref. 12W18C satd. or unsaturated fatty acid, 20W800mol of ethylene oxide and 15W200mol of propylene oxide are subjected to an addition reaction to obtain a stabilizer for a mixed fuel, which consists of a nonionic surfactant having a polyoxyethylene gp. content of 30W90wt% per molecule, an average MW of 2,000W45,000 and a structure where ester linkages are present in a block form. 0.01W1.0wt%, pref. 0.05W0.5wt% of said stabilizer is added to a mixed fuel consisting of 20W70wt% of finely divided coal powder and 80W30wt% of a fuel oil.
EFFECT: Finely divided coal powder can stably be dispersed in the fuel oil by the stabilizer. The stabilizer gives a soft precipitate so that the fine coal particles precipitated at bottom can easily be redispersed.
