Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of a noise and improve a wind quantity characteristic, by providing a crossflow fan of prescribed structure in a prescribed position.
CONSTITUTION: A crossflow fan 4, whose diameter D is equal to about 70W90% of the effective inside width L of a casing 1 having a suction port 2 and a blowoff port 3 in the upper and the lower portions of the front, is provided in a position at about a half of the effective inside width 6 of the casing. A heat exchanger 5 is installed under the crossflow fan 4 so that the heat exchanger is slightly inclined. When a fluid introduced through the suction port 2 by the rotation of the crossflow fan 4 is cooled or heat-exchanged and blown off through the blowoff port 3, a noise is reduced and a wind quantity characteristic and a feeling of wind quantity are improved because of the specification of the diameter D of the crossflow fan 4 even if the thickness of the casing 1 is diminished.
