Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the reliability of an audio response system, by making failure monitor through the use of a vacant line during the ON-line service of an audio response system. CONSTITUTION:When a contact S2 of a network controller NCU is turned on to form a folded circuit and a PB signal is outputted from an audio response device ARU based on the instruction from an information processor CPU, a PB receiver PBR of a vacant line converts this PB signal into a received digital signal and transfers to a CPU. Thus, the presence of an error can be discriminated by collating the PB signal transmission instructing information in the CPU and the reception data from the PB receiver PBR. If any error is discovered by this collation, the line is choked by judging it as a failure and control is made to offer only normal line to subscribers. Thus, since failure monitor is made even during on-line service by using a vacant line, the reliability of the system is increased.
