Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a compressed signal, by giving a balanced modulation with a modulated signal to the signal to be modulated which has a band width of 1/2 modulated signal and extracting the lower-side band component of the modulation output. CONSTITUTION:A modulated input signal a1 is supplid through an input terminal 1, and a balanced modulation is given through a balanced modulator 2 to a carrier signal a1, i.e., the output of a carrier signal generator 3 having a frequency of fC= Bp/2+fL (BP: band width of modulated signal; fL: minimim frequency of modulated signal). The lower-side band e'2 becomes 1/2 to the modulated signal band width BP to be extracted by a separator 4. The signal e'2 receives radio transmission from a transmitter equipped with an FM modulator.
