Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition giving a coat with excelllent fog resistance, wear resistance and weatherability, which comprises an epoxy group contg. org. silane compd. a polyhydric alcohol having a polyoxyethylene chain, a specified polymer and a curing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: 0.05W20pts.wt. Curing catalyst is added to 100pts.wt. mixture consisting of 5W50pts.wt., caculated on a grop of formula II (wherein R1 and R2 are hereinafter described), epoxy group-contg. org. silane compd. or a partially hydrolyzed material) of formula I (wherein R1 is an org. group having an epoxy group; R2 is H, a 1W6C hydrocarbon group or vinyl; R3 is a 1W6C hydrocarbon group, alkoxyalkyl or 1W4C acyl; a is 1W3; b is 0W2; a+b≤3), 20W70pts.wt. polyhydric alcohol of formula III (wherein n1-m are 0W7, of which at least two are 1 or more; m is 3W9) of MW100W3,000 having a polyoxyethylene chain and 10W 70pts.wt. (co)-polymer contg. 20wt% or more repeating structural unit of formula IV (wherein R4 and R5 are each H, lower alkyl or carboxyl; X is a side chain having an epoxy group).
