Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition with excellent fog resistance and wear resistance, giving a coat excellent in weatherability, which is prepared by incorporating a curing catalyst in an epoxy group-contg. vinyl polymer and a polyhydric alcohol having a polyoxyethylene chain.
CONSTITUTION: A main component consisting of 20W75wt% polymer or copolymer (A) contg. 20wt% or more repeating structural unit of formula I (wherein R1 and R2 and H or lower alkyl; X is a side chain having an epoxy group) and 80W 25wt% polyhydric alcohol (B) having a polyoxyethylene chain, e.g., a compd. of formula II (wherein n1Wnm are each an integer of 0W7, of which at least two are each an integer ≥1 and m is an integer of 3W9), is compounded with 0.05W 20pts.wt. curing catalyst, e.g., ammonium perchlorate and, if necessary, with 3W80pts.wt. curing agent, particularly one contg. an epoxy group, each based on 100pts.wt. total of components A and B, to obtain the titled composition.
