Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable automatic detection of the production misses of electrode groups, which are used for assembling a storage battery, by counting plate lags by use of a photoelectric tube, before the electrode groups are installed in a container. CONSTITUTION:In assembling a storage battery, a given number of electrode groups 1 obtained after given works are fixed to an electrode-group fixing frame 2, and the unified body is placed so that the electrode groups 1 extend downwardly from the frame 2. Photoelectric tubes 3 and 3', which can be moved by a sliding screw 6, are provided under the electrode groups 1. Plate lages 5 are counted by sliding the photoelectric tubes 3 and 3' from the right to the left. At the same time, a judgement reset signal is given by the tube 3' each time when a cell is counted. Owing to the above constitution, the production misses of the electrode groups 1 can be accurately detected by counting the whole cells in a short time. Consequently, the efficiency in the assembly of the battery can be enhanced.
