Abstract

PURPOSE:To use a cleaning assisting device while the force of pressing to a photoreceptor is weakened by forming a cleaning blade by laminating a conductive layer and insulating layer alternately, and by applying an AC voltage to conductive layers. CONSTITUTION:The external circumference part of a photoreceptor 1 consists of a conductive layer 1a, photosensitive layer 1b and dielectric layer 1c, and a cleaning blade 2 is formed by laminating a conductive layer 2a and insulating layer 2b repeatedly and alternately; respective conductive layers 2a are connected to an AC power source 4. This cleaning blade 2 is brought into light contact with the photoreceptor 1 and an AC high voltage is applied to the conductive layers 2a, and consequently an unbalanced electric field is established between the conductive layer 1a of the photoreceptor 1 and the conductive layers 2a of the blade 2. As a result, charges of the photoreceptor surface and toner are eliminated, and the toner is stirred to improve mechanical scraping-off operation.
