Abstract

PURPOSE:To make phase adjusting surely and quickly, by providing a control circuit to a tape run driving means in a VTR. CONSTITUTION:In a VTR1 using a tape TP in which a control signal CTL every frame of a video signal on a track T and a time code signal TCD corresponding to the frame are recorded, a phase adjuster 2 is provided with a circuit 7 controlling a tape run driving means. Further, a reproducing control signal from a tape and a reference frame pulse are compared for the phase, and the time comparison of time diference of a tape between the tape objective time and tape present time, and of the refrence time difference between the reference objective time based on the reference time signal and on the reference present time, is made. Further, the tape run driving means is controlled so that the phase difference by the phase comparison can be within a prescribed value and the time difference by the time comparison can be avoided.
