Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the running property of an engine at the recycling of its exhaust gas, by storing one of three parameters of the engine as a reference value and by predetermining the recycled flow rate of the exhaust gas depending on deviations resulting from the comparison of the measured values of two other parameters with the reference value. CONSTITUTION:A negative pressure signal from a negative pressure detector 10 provided in an intake pipe 2 is stored as a reference value in a deviation detector 15. Measured load signals from a throttle opening degree detector 9 and a rotational frequency detector 8 are applied to the deviation detector 15 through level detectors 11, 12 and a gate circuit 14 so that the measured load signals are compared with the stored negative pressure signal. A control valve 6 provided in an exhaust gas recycling passage 5 is regulated on the basis of deviation signals resulting from the comparison, to appropriately recycle exhaust gas. When the deviation has exceeded a prescribed level, an alarm means 17 is energized to warn the driver.
