Abstract

PURPOSE: To solution obtain from fruits of a prennial plant in Cucurbitaceae, Momordica grosvenori Swingle, is treated with a magnesia adsorbent to produce a sweetening containing high-purity sweet components.
CONSTITUTION: The solution prepared from fruits of a prennial plant in Cucurbitacae, Momordica grosvenori Swingle, which contains sweet components as well as contaminants, e.g., pigments, proteins or other, is brought into contact with a magnesia adsorbent mainly consisting of MgO or MgO.Al2O3 to adosrb the contaminants. Then, when needed, the resultant solution is concentrated or further dried.
