Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a three-component pigment which develops color from yellow to flesh color, has excellent hiding properties, and is suitable as cosmetics, by a method wherein a monovalent alkali metal compd., a ferric compd. and titanium dioxide are mixed together in a specified ratio, and the mixture is calcined. CONSTITUTION:0.5-25wt% Monovalent alkali metal compd. (A) (e.g. potassium carbonat or lithium hydroxide), 0.5-25wt% ferric compd. (B) (e.g. ferric oxide or ferric carbonate) and 65-99wt% titanium dioxide (C) are mixed together. The resulting mixture is calcined at 500-1,000 deg.C to obtain the desired three- component pigment. The produced pigment has excellent dispersibility, dispersion stability and further excellent chemical resistance, and is suitable for use in cosmetics, paints, etc.
