Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a three-component system pigment having various color types and excellent heat resistance by calcining dispersed mixture of inorganic extender of divalent metal compound, titanium oxide, and inorganic metal compound. CONSTITUTION:(a) About 2-25wt% of inorganic extender consisting of oxides or hydroxides of divalent metals such as MgO, CaO, BaO, Mg(OH)2, Ca(OH)2, MgCO3, or BaCO3, (b) about 40-85wt% of titanium oxide, and (c) about 10- 55wt% of inorganic metal compound consisting of oxides, hydroxides, and carbonates of transition metals excluding zinc, such as iron oxide, iron hydroxide, manganese hydroxide, or cobalt carbonate are mixed by crushing. The mixture is calcined at about 700-2000 deg.C for about 1-120hr to cause solid solution reaction among three components, providing pigment excellent in heat resistance, etc. Products with various color types and color tones are provided by selecting (a) component and by changing mixing proportion of each component.
