Abstract
PURPOSE:To regulate an amount of toner attached and to obtain a copy having high image quality, by rendering the relative velocity of a developer bearing means higher than that of a latent image bearing means, and applying DC bias voltage between both the means. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a latent image bearing means, such as electrostatic drum 1 is developed with one-component type developer 6 on developer bearing means 2 consisting of a nonmagnetic sleeve, etc. Blade 4, hopper 5, etc. are installed above sleeve 2, and magnetic toner layer 6' is formed on sleeve 2. Sleeve 2 is driven at a relative velocity higher than that of drum 1 with driving means 8, permitting thickness of the toner layer on the surface to be regulated. DC bias voltage including earth, etc. is applied between means 2, 1.
