Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve braking efficiency in a disk brake device suitable for the front wheel of a motorcycle by a method wherein a caliper piston comprises at least two pistons. CONSTITUTION:In the front wheel of the motorcycle, a disk 2 is fixed to a wheel hub 1 supported rotatably on the axle 12 and a caliper member 3 is provided in the manner of straddling the disk 2. The caliper member 3 has a pair of pads 4, 4 which face with each other on both sides of the disk 2 and a caliper piston 5 for operating the pads 4, 4. In said device, the caliper piston 5 comprises at least two pistons 5a, 5a. Each cylinder 6 of each piston 5a is allowed to connect with respective oil hydraulic take-out ports 9 of a master cylinder 8 through respective oil pipes 7. Thus, each piston 5a can be set in parallel operation.
