Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce titled composition which, on compression molding, will give molded products superior in strength, impact resistance, abrasion resistance and durability, by incorporating a urethanated unsaturated polyester resin containing a polymerizable monomer, a hardening catalyst, a thickener and a reinforcing material.
CONSTITUTION: Titled composition useful as materials in producing electric equipment parts, automobile parts, etc. is per (e.g., styrene, vinyltoluene) in which is dissolved or mixed a urethanated unsaturated polyester obtained by the reaction of an unsaturated polyester with an isocyanate compound, (B) hardening catalyst (e.g., dicumyl peroxide, cumene hydroperoxide), (C) oxide/hydroxide of alkaline earth metals (e.g., magnesium oxide, calcium hydroxide) as a thicknener and (D) fibrous reinforcing material (e.g., glass fiber, carbon fiber).
