Abstract
PURPOSE: A specific polyester-modified vinyl resin, an acid as a neutralizer, and water as a diluent are used to produce the titled composition giving coating films with good physical properties, high corrosion resistance and high water resistance.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprises (A) A polyester-modified vinyl resin of 10W150 hydroxyl value that is obtained by graft polymerization of (a) 2W40wt% of an unsaturated polyester resin, (b) 5W20wt% of a tertiary amino group-containing α,β-ethylenically unsaturated monomer such as dimethylamino- ethyl methacrylate, (c) 93W40wt% of a mixture of an N-alkoxymethylated monomer of αβ-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid amide such as N-methoxymethyl methacrylate and at least one α,β-monoethylenically unsaturated monomers other than components (b) and (c), (B) an acid as a neutralizer and (C) water as a diluent.
