PURPOSE:To increase the performance of stirring as well as permit the removal of foreign matters adhered to substance to be treated and the use of a high-temperature alkaline solution by combining a stirrer with a pipe in the stirring operation of a surface treatment bath. CONSTITUTION:A stirrer 1 and a pipe 2 are fixed to a washing tank 3. The suction port of the pipe 2 is positioned at a place lower than the liquid level 5 in such a way as to enable a washing liquid 6 to flow into the suction port 4 in a disturbed state in the direction of the arrow 9. The fitting positon of a blade 7 is determined according to the stirring performance and condition of the stirrer 1. However, in the case of foamable solutions, the blade 7 is attached to the lower side of a shaft 8.
