Abstract

PURPOSE: A spinning dope that contains a specific amount of viscose and sodium carbonate and has a certain Hottenroth number is spun with a usual spinning bath to produce the titled rayon suitably used as sanitary goods, because of its high adsorption, high friction coefficient and fiber-interlacing properties.
CONSTITUTION: Sodium carbonate is added to viscose by 3W7% based on the viscose to prepare a spinning dope of 7W11% cellulose concentration and 6W15 Hottenroth number. The dope is spun by extruding it into a usual spinning bath composed of an aqueous solution containing sulfuric acid, zinc sulfate, sodium sulfate and other compounds at 40W70°C bath temperatures to effect coagulation and regeneration. Then, scouring and drying are performed to produce the objective rayone fiber with a water absorbitivity of more than 170%, friction coefficients of higher than 0.250 in static friction and of higher than 0.170 in dynamic one, that is to say, of high water absorption and high fiber-interlacing properties.
