Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a polyamide resin with low toxicity capable of reacting with an epoxy compound on mixing at ordinary temperature and giving a cured article having the flexibility, by reacting a benzylsuccinic acid (anhydride) of specific structure as a part of the acid component with a polyamine.
CONSTITUTION: An acid component containing preferably 40W95wt%, based on the total acid component, benzylsuccinic acid (anhydride) expressed by the formula (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 are H or 1W6C alkyl) is reacted with a polyamine, e.g. diethylenetriamine, preferably at 130W250°C in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. phosphoric acid. The compound expressed by the formula is obtained by the radical addition reaction of an alkylbenzene having a hydrogen atom at the α-position to the aromatic ring with maleic acid (anhydride), etc.
