Abstract

PURPOSE:To translate compound words efficiently, retrieving and displaying other compound words successively by the search key if the compound word is not a desired one when all of compound words beginning with a prescribed start word are displayed. CONSTITUTION:Since a start word of compound words, for example, word ''HOT'' is an independent word itself and is the start word of compound word ''HOT DOG'', the compound word code is added following word ''HOT'' to indicate compound words beginning with this word. When all of compound words are displayed through space codes other compound words are retrieved and displayed successively by the search key if the compound word is not a desired one. When word ''HOT DOG'' is obtained finally, this word is used for translation.
