Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate two or more titled substances easily and industrially, by dissolving a mixture comprising two or more titled substances in a hydrophilic solvent at a specific temperature, followed by cooling the solution gradually so that the coenzyme having a higher molecular weight is crystallized first, separated and collected.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture comprising two or more coenzyme Q homologue from coenzyme Q4 to coenzyme Q12 is purified conventionally, and substances other than the coenzyme Q homologue are removed. The mixture of coenzyme Q homologue is dissolved in a hydrophilic solvent, e.g., acetonitrile, acetone, etc. at about 40W60°C. The solution is cooled first at a rate 1W3°C per hour, and when crystal separtes out, the cooling rate is made ≤1°C/hr, and the final temperature is made about 10W20°C. In possible, crystals are separated and collected, and the coenzyme Q homologue is separated easily each other and industrially.
