Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance plating efficiency to a large extent, in subjecting a surface of a strip to the electroplating by a radial cell system, by a method wherein an insoluble anode is electrically separated in an inlet and an outlet sides of the strip and a plating current is adjusted respectively.
CONSTITUTION: In continuously subjecting the strip 2 to the electroplating by a radial cell system, an insoluble anode is divided into an inlet side anode 3a and an outlet side anode 3b and both anodes 3a, 3b are connected to positive terminals of rectifiers 4a, 4b respectively and negative terminals of said rectifiers 4a, 4b are connected to a rotary drum 1, that is, the strip 2. Because respective power sources of a plating current is provided to two insoluble anodes 3a, 3b separately, the plating current is easily adjusted corresponding to a plate passing speed of the strip 2 and, especially, the increment of plating voltage, the generation of plating irregularity and burning are reduced during high speed plating at a high plate passing speed of the strip and plating efficiency is enhanced.
