Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the storage quantity of an ink ribbon into a ribbon storing part by providing a forced feed mechanism for ribbon at part of a ribbon accommodating part separate from a winding roller and maintaining a pressure on a folding ink ribbon between said mechanism and the winding roller. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary roller (ribbon feed mechanism) 11 is provided on the both sides of a ribbon accommodating part 8 so that an ink ribbon 2 folded in a part of the ribbon accommodating part 8 may be forced to move with its ridge line in contact with said roller. The pressure of a folded ink ribbon in part A is always maintained at a constant level and the ink ribbon 2 is folded smoothly into the ribbon accommodating part 8. In addition, an ink ribbon folded in part B is concentrated by means of the auxiliary roller 11, so that the accommodating density of the ink ribbon 2 is increased. It is possible to provide a belt conveyer instead of the auxiliary roller for feeding the ribbon.
