Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon cartridge, economical, simple in its structure, having a small number of component parts, sure in its operation and high in reliability, by providing a special back-stop mechanism at the portion of feed roller adapted for feeding ink-impregnated endless ribbon in one direction. CONSTITUTION:Feed roller 3 is composed of ratchet 3a serving as means to be driven by a suitable means disposed outside case 1, roll 3b serving as means for feeding endless ribbon 2, and ratchet 3c serving as back-stop means. On the upper cover 6 of case 1, there is provided a back-stop pawl 6a to be engaged with ratchet 3c which serves as back-stop means for feed roller 3. With such an arrangement, pawl 6a is kept out of engagement with ratchet 3c at the time of feeding endless ribbon 2, so that ribbon 2 can be fed smoothly. On the other hand, during the while other than the ribbon feeding operation, pawl 6a is held in engagement with ratchet 3c for preventing backward movement of ribbon 2.
