Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the dezincification corrosion and intergranular corrosion resistances of the resulting titled alloy by adding an adequate amount of P and Sn to an alloy contg. Cu and Zn.
CONSTITUTION: This Cu alloy for a radiator tube has a composition consisting of 25W40% Zn, 0.02W0.5% Sn, 0.002W0.04% P and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities. This alloy has improved dezincification corrosion and intergranular corrosion resistances by the synergistic effect of Sn and P, so it is slightly corroded by residual flux used in a soldering process and exhaust gas contg. NOx, SOx, etc. When this alloy is used to manufacture a radiator tube, the endurance life of the tube can be elongated considerably.
