Abstract
PURPOSE: A composition useful as an adhesive, coating compound, sealing material, etc., having improved flexibility, impact strength, adhesiveness, and resistance to heat shock, obtained by blending a specific liquid chloroprene polymer with an epoxy resin and its curing agent, etc. in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A liquid chloroprene polymer having a number average molecular weight 500W10,000 obtained by subjecting chloroprene monomer alone or the monomer and a monomer (e.g., styrene, etc.) copolymerizable with it, and a hydroxyl group-containing monomer shown by the formula (n is 1 or 2; R is 2W3C hydrocarbon) to radical polymerization in the presence of an aliphatic mercapto alcohol (e.g., 2-mercaptoethyl alcohol, etc.) in a solvent system, e.g., benzene is blended with (B) an epoxy resin (preferably a bisphenol A type having an epoxy equivanet 100W1,000, liquid at normal temperature) and (C) a curing agent for epoxy resin in a weight ratio of ingredient A/B of 5W200/100.
