Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the reading operation of a photoelectric converting element by outputting an aritificial synchronizing signal at prescribed timing when no external synchronizing signal is inputted. CONSTITUTION:From counter 5 counting clock pulses driving CCD1, an artificial synchronizing signal is outputted to reset signal generator 7, resetting CCD1 and counter 5 with a synchronizing signal, lagging slightly the synchronizing signal to control reading operation. Consequently, a reset signal is outputted to CCD1 and counter 5; CCD1 transfers reset and picture signals again and also outputs the control signal and artificial synchronizing signal of an automatic level control circuit which keep constant the black level in a video signal.
