Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of air conditioning system, by eliminating a defrosting timer for outdoor unit through employment of an arrangement in which control on defrosting operation is achieved by use of the timer function programmed in microcomputer incorporated in operation control unit.
CONSTITUTION: In heating operation, indoor fan motor 71, four-way selector valve 2, outdoor fan motor 61 and compressor 1 are set into operation respectively by fan switch 14, speed control switch 15, heating operation setting switch 16, outdoor fan switch 17 and operation switch 18, which are controlled by main control unit 11. Here, if arrangement is such that defrosting thermo-switch 30 is opened when the temperature of outdoor heat exchanger is lower than, for instance, -3°C, the above switches 14, 16, 17 are turned OFF by the main control unit 11 when the above situation is continued, for instance, for 50min by the timer function of microcomputer in main control unit 11. Resultantly, operation of the indoor and outdoor fans is stopped and defrosting operation for outdoor heat exchanger 3 is started.
