Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit the leakage of a safety valve and the operatin of a valve to be monitored certainly by detecting the temperature and the total pressure at the center of an exhaust pipe and detecting the flow rate from the differential pressure between the static pressure at the wall of the exhaust pipe and the total pressure, in the relief valve for the steam in a power generating plant.
CONSTITUTION: A steam relief valve 1 and an exhaust pipe 13 in front are installed, branched from the steam pipe 12 of a power generating plant. A narrow pipe is welded at the position of diameter of the exhaust pipe 13, and small holes 31 on the peripheral surface of the narrow pipe are opposed to the front upper stream of the steam flow, and one end of the narrow pipe is opened outside the exhaust pipe 13, to form a detecting pipe 30, and the total pressure of the steam flow is transmitted to a detecting pipe 36. On the wall of the exhaust pipe, a static pressure detecting pipe 38 is arranged, and connected with a pressure difference detector 37, and the flow amount of the steam is metered, and an alarm device 34 is operated. A temperature sensor 32 is positioned at the center part of the exhaust pipe through the detecting pipe 30, and connected with the alarm device 34. Thus, leakage of the safety valve and operation can be monitored correctly.
