Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent water level in drum from rising extraordinarily when pressure in the drum is lowered abruptly, by effecting beforehand control to discharge water from the drum by opening a drum-water reducing valve when rate of pressure change and water level are both high.
CONSTITUTION: A composite cycle plant shown in the drawing comprises a suitable number of gas turbine units 1, the same number of waste heat recovering boilers 11 and one steam turbine unit 40. Control system for water supply system of the above plant is arranged to control water-supply control valve 13 by use of signals from water-level detector 51 of drum 16, means 52 for measuring flow rate of steam and means 53 for measuring flow rate of water. Here, said drum 16 is connected with a blow-down pipe 30 having drum-water reducing valve 31. In such an arrangement, the drum-water reducing valve 31 is controlled to open by control means 57 only when output of water-level detector 51 and output of means for calculating rate of change in pressure signal, i.e., output of pressure gauge 55 are both higher than respective set values.
