Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the corrosion of an inner wall of a chimney simply and economically, in discharging a waste gas into the air from the chimney through a flue, by scattering water or an alkali solution in a lower part of the flue or the chimney.
CONSTITUTION: A waste gas containing acidic substances such as SOx or the like and moisture discharged from a waste gas desufurization apparatus 5 is discharged into the air from the chimney 2 through the flue 1. In this case, water or an alkali solution is scattered from plural nozzles 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 separately provided in said flue 1. In this case, a size of liquid droplets of water or the alkali solution scattered from each nozzles is changed. Further, the nozzle 4-1 is provided so as to direct a nozzle port thereof to a direction in reverse to a flow direction of the waste gas in order to be capable of preventing corrosion of said nozzle due to acidic substances. By this method, water or the alkali solution is ascended in a liquid droplet form through the chimney 2 and attached to the inner wall to enhance a PH of condensed water thereon.
