Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality cell with a high yield, by providing a linkage hole to the intermediate supporting plate to secure a link among all cell spaces and thus reducing the number of injection ports of the liquid material into the cell for a laminated optical cell using >=3 sheets of the supporting plate. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate supporting plate 20 is superposed on the outer supporting plate 11 via the periphery sealing part 31; the outer supporting plate 10 is superposed on the plate 20 via the periphery sealing part 30; and the cell spaces 51 and 50 are formed between the supporting plates 11-20 and 20-10. Thus a laminated optical cell is obtained (11a, 20b, 20a, 10b: transparent electrodes). In such optical cell, a part of the part 30 is cut to form an injection port 40 for the liquid crystal material. At the same time, a linkage hole 90 is provided to the plate 20 to secure a link between the cell spaces 51 and 50. Thus the working efficiency is enhanced for an injection of liquid material, the sealing and others to obtain a highly reliable cell.
