Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an oscillator of high stability that uses a phase shifter as a substitute for a varactor diode and suits to IC-implementation. CONSTITUTION:The amplifier, consisting of transistors (TR) Q1-Q4, is controlled by phase-shifting circuit 5-7 and control TRQ5, Q6 and its output is output to output terminal 10 through impedance transformer 9 and also fed back to the above- mentioned amplifier by way of impedance transformer 8 and frequency selectivity phase-shifting circuit 3. As a result, the whole circuit in the figure constitutes an oscillating circuit, which can operate as a modulator by varying its oscillation frequency with a signal from control input terminal 2. Denoting variations in output phase angle by a control input as theta1 and theta2, phase shifter 5 varies the signal phase of circuit 3 by theta1-theta2 and while circuit 6 applies signals of +theta1 and -theta1 in phase to the amplifier, circuit 7 applies signals of +theta2 and -theta2.
