Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a fast sensing of leaked gas by a method wherein a closed or sealed space is made between an inner tank bottom floor and bottom insulator material of LNG storage tank, a liquid collection groove is arranged outside the side plates of the inner tank, and sensing ends of the gas sensor are placed in the closed or sealed space and liquid collection groove.
CONSTITUTION: When a leakage of liquid is caused from the inner tank bottom plate 11, the leaked liquid is collected in the sealed space 12 through a fine clearance in the concrete support member 10, no leakage is found from a pan plate 8 and so that leaked liquid volume is terminated in the sealed space 12. Liquid is flowed out of the opening sensing end of the line 20 to be gasified and sensed at once by a gas sensor device 18. When a leakage is produced from the side plates 13, the leaked liquid is flowed down along the side plates 13, collected in the liquid collecting groove 17, and sensed at once by the sensor device 18 via sensor end 19. In this way, a fast sensing of the leakage may be performed and a fast response may become possible.
